A proud native of New York City, Terry Nelson spent his childhood living on the Upper West Side in Manhattan. Besides playing 3rd base for the Yankees, his dream job as a kid was to be a TV sitcom writer. Terry’s post-college journey led him to Tower Records Lincoln Center, where he spent a short period as a Rock LP buyer.

His career in Film & Television post-production began in 1989, lasting 25 years. Throughout his career, he wore various hats, working as a videotape operator, administrator, editor, and even a voice actor. In 2012, Terry founded the Beacon Independent Film Festival, which ran until 2018. During this period, Terry joined Albumism, a website that honors the world’s enduring fascination with albums from all eras.

In 2017, he was elected to the City Council of Beacon, NY, and served two terms until 2021.
Terry is putting the finishing touches on his first novel, How Did I Get Here?. Terry Nelson fun fact: Renowned chef Bobby Flay was a classmate of Terry’s in 2nd and 3rd grade.
